CouchLink ("we," "us," or "our") operates the CouchLink application (the "App") available for Apple TV and iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

CouchLink is an independent third-party application and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or connected to Microsoft Corporation or its subsidiaries, including but not limited to Xbox, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Cloud Gaming, or any related brands. All Microsoft, Xbox, and related marks, logos, and names are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Use of such names in the App is solely for descriptive or compatibility identification purposes.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Authentication Tokens
To stream games, the App requires you to authenticate with your Microsoft account using the OAuth 2.0 device-code flow. We do not collect, transmit to our servers, or store your Microsoft account password. Authentication tokens are stored locally in the iOS/tvOS Keychain on your device and are never shared with us.
3.2 Usage Data
We do not currently collect analytics, usage statistics, or telemetry. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
3.3 Crash Reports
If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple, crash reports may be forwarded to us via App Store Connect. These reports do not contain personally identifiable information beyond what Apple's standard crash reporting includes.
3.4 Network Connections
The App establishes direct connections to Microsoft's streaming infrastructure (e.g., Xbox Cloud Gaming endpoints) on your behalf. We do not proxy, inspect, or log the media content of these connections. Your IP address may be visible to Microsoft's servers as part of normal network operation.
4. How We Use Information
Authentication tokens stored on your device are used solely to make authorised API requests to Microsoft's gaming services on your behalf. We use no personal data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties — because we do not collect it.
5. Data Storage and Security
All authentication credentials are stored exclusively in the Apple Keychain on your device, protected by your device's hardware security. We have no backend servers that receive or store your credentials or personal data.
6. Third-Party Services
The App communicates with Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Remote Play services. Your use of those services is subject to Microsoft's own privacy policies:

7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Data Retention
Since we do not store personal data on our servers, there is no retention period to specify. Authentication tokens stored in the device Keychain can be deleted at any time by signing out within the App or deleting the App from your device.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- The right to access personal data we hold about you
- The right to request deletion of personal data
- The right to withdraw consent
Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, most of these rights are exercised by managing your device's Keychain and your Microsoft account settings directly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the App and on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
